Did you miss the news?!?!?! We’re both engaged to be married this year!
Getting engaged is an incredible and sacred moment in life, but to experience a time like this with one of your friends makes it even more thrilling! Admittedly, planning a wedding during a pandemic comes with its challenges, but it feels pretty good to have someone there to talk through all the moving parts that help to shape the day like colors, flowers, dresses and more. We’re happy to be there for each other as friends, but we’re also delighted to lend our individual expertise during the entire process.
Even more, we’re excited to bring you along our journey. You’ve seen our designs together, but now you’ll see some of our individual styles which we’ll be shared via our series, soon to be announced.
For each of our big day, you’ll get to see the planning of both an intimate ceremony and a traditional wedding. Here’s what you can expect:
Lauren’s Wedding
Lauren wanted to elope…Chris wanted all the feels of a wedding…so we met in the middle. Our wedding will be a faith-based ceremony followed by nosh, cocktails & cake. In doing our part to keep family and close friends safe amidst the pandemic, we’re going for intimate, outdoors and quick.
Call it natural glam! Fresh flowers, muted pastels in a northwest DC garden, classic black tie, and no fuss! Simple, sweet and our love on full display.
Oh what a happy day it will be for the Carters!
Brittani’s Wedding
A traditional wedding wasn’t part of the initial vision, but my fiancé, Kyle, is a creative himself and has outlined a day that’s undeniable. Yes, the groom-to-be is very involved. Is this where I ask for prayers? I kid! It’s been fun having him fully present.
Well, we’re headed to Nola for a full celebration with our love for art, music and culture on display! New Orleans holds a sacred place in my heart as my second home during my childhood days and is one of Kyle’s favorite cities to visit; the perfect match.
You can expect beautiful hues in an outdoor ceremony before ending the night with a romantic-meets-modern styled reception!
With different styles and days, I’m sure you both will have the weddings of your individual dreams! LOVE DC wedding planners!

This has to be the most FUN thing to do together EVA – However the first thing that came to mind was the movie Bride Wars but I dont foresee this being a thing with you guys – continue to love, and support each other and remember empathy its the key to this friendship while taking this journey together at the same time!
Bride Wars is funny, but yes all love over here!
